The Priorat  and its adjacent regions, offer us a wide 
range of possibilities combining culture, landscape and gastronomic products of the highest quality: the wine and olive oil.


Approximately 1 hour driving from Barcelona, ​​and following the Mediterranean motorway, we arrive to Altafulla, near the beach in Costa Dourada, base camp from which to launch tours or overnight in the Hotel Gran Claustre ****.

The Vineyards:

As major populations are: Falset,  Siurana,  Porrera, Gratallops and many others, offering in its countless wineries, tastings of their finest wines.
Special mention to Escaladei, supply with Cartoxa (old monastery) it is named (in recostrucción and vistable), who from 1150 produced magnificent wines and oils.

Do not forget that moving from one village to another, in spectacular natural landscapes as Serralada Montsant and Prades (natural parks), of great beauty.


         
Arbequina olive
Olive Oil.
Along with the grape and wine, another of the great treasures of the area, are the olives tree. A production considered of higher quality in southern Europe, with native varieties, like the "Arbequina", small size and therefore of little performance, but with a final product, virgin oil, extraordinary. The specialization of producers in the area, next to "blend" of different varieties, offers a selection of unsurpassed quality oils.


The Culture

 All this wide gastronomic offer is complemented with variant offering cultural and historical places like towns and monasteries of the Cistercian Order (Benedictine), as Poblet or Santes Creus. Enclaves are ancient (1150 m), which were established after the conquest of the territories to the Moors and for their livelihood, began producing wines mainly, that lasts until today.
